Position Summary

The position will be filled at the level of Associate Professor or Professor depending on the qualifications and record of the successful candidate. Applicants must have a PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics, or related quantitative discipline and have previous research and teaching experience. The successful candidate is expected to make significant contributions to research; develop and maintain a vigorous independent and collaborative research program; participate in teaching and mentor junior faculty and graduate students; and provide statistical consultation to graduate students in the department and in the College of Human Medicine. It is envisioned that the candidate will assume a leadership role in the department.

Required Degree

Doctorate -Statistics/Biostatistics, or related field.

Minimum Requirements

PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics, or related quantitative discipline with demonstrated expertise

in applications of novel statistical methodologies to the health sciences.

Desired Qualifications

Candidate must have research expertise in several areas including, but not limited to, design and analysis of randomized clinical trials, comparative effectiveness, and healthcare studies. Candidates should have training and experience in applications of novel statistical methodologies to the health sciences. The individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the motivation to act as a team member in collaborative research ventures; expected to make significant contributions to research; develop and maintain a vigorous independent and collaborative research program; participate in teaching and mentor junior faculty and graduate students; and provide statistical consultation to graduate students in the department and in the College of Human Medicine.
