Jes Asmussen: MSU 2016 Technology Transfer Award
Michigan State University’s intellectual property office, MSU Technologies, selected Jes Asmussen work for the Technology Transfer Achievement Award for 2016. Asmussen, University Distinguished Professor of electrical and computer engineering, received the award for his work with microwave plasm machines and processes to produce synthetic diamonds. His advanced equipment is used in the deposition and growth of polycrystalline and single-crystal diamond used in industrial, scientific, and gemstone applications. Asmussen holds 26 U.S. patents and more than 20 international patents in the field of microwave technology and microwave processing.
