MSU Graduate Programs Ranked Highly by U.S. News & World Report
In its 2023 America’s Best Graduate Schools rankings, U.S. News & World Report recognized five of Michigan State University’s graduate programs as first in the nation, with several others appearing in the top 20. MSU’s nuclear physics graduate program and elementary and secondary education graduate programs all continued long-running streaks at No. 1.
Steven Fraiberg Wins CCCC Technical and Scientific Communication Award
Steven Fraiberg, Associate Professor in the Department of Writing, Rhetoric, and American Cultures at Michigan State University, received a 2022 Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) Technical and Scientific Communication Award for the Best Article Reporting Qualitative or Quantitative Research in Technical or Scientific Communication.

Pero G. Dagbovie Recommended as Dean of the Graduate School
MSU Provost Teresa K. Woodruff, Ph.D. is recommending Pero G. Dagbovie as the associate provost for graduate and postdoctoral studies and dean of the Graduate School. The appointment will be effective April 22, pending approval by the Board of Trustees.
Thomas Sharkey Named American Society of Plant Biologists Pioneer Member
Michigan State University plant biochemist Thomas D. Sharkey was recently named a Pioneer Member of the American Society of Plant Biologists (ASPB), a recognition given to leaders in the society, especially those who have been involved in training graduate students, postdocs and visiting professors.
