The Office of the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation was formerly the Office of the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies (OVPRGS).

The title for the Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies was changed in January of 2019. The position is now called the Senior Vice President for Research and Innovation (OSVPRI) and is currently held by Stephen Hsu.

When referring to the office and not the position/title, it may be shortened to the Office for Research and Innovation or ORI.
