Whether developing a funding proposal, a one-page overview for a program officer, or writing your first manuscript, clear and concise writing is a critical skill for scholars. There are many valuable resources at MSU to help researchers hone their writing skills. The Research Development & Proposals Services team within the Office of Research and Innovation is also available to edit proposals, help find funding, or provide consulting.
The Writing Center at MSU
The Writing Center at MSU is a free service to all members of the Michigan State community. They help with fiction, non-fiction, or digital media projects at any stage of the writing process - brainstorming and planning, organization, as well as polishing the final draft. Join a Writing Group.
MSU Authorship Guidelines
MSU has provided authorship guidelines to help faculty consider important issues surrounding authorship when collaborating with scholars to construct a piece of work for public distribution.
Promotion of Completed Research
Promoting your research beyond journals may seem like a daunting task, but there are units within MSU that can assist. Faculty with soon-to-be or recently published research should first connect with their unit or college communications professional for assistance. Please refer to the Research Communications Resources page for additional information.
