The Office of Research and Innovation is responsible for coordinating the internal review and selection of competing proposals when their number exceeds what is allowed by the sponsor as specified in their program announcement or request for proposals. This applies to all types of proposals (fellowship, individual awards, equipment, training, research, etc.), sponsors (federal, state, foundation, etc.), and award types (grants, contracts, cooperative agreements, etc.).
If you become aware of a proposal opportunity that imposes a restriction on MSU as a whole and you would like to apply, please communicate this to your departmental administrator or dean's office and to the Office of Research and Innovation at limited@msu.edu as early as possible.
Unless noted below, institutionally limited proposals are due to the Office of Research and Innovation eight weeks before the agency deadline. Please confirm all tentative dates with the funding agency before submitting your internal documents.
Please direct questions and Notices of Intent to Apply to:
Kay Connelly, Associate Vice President Hannah Administration Building 426 Auditorium Road, Room 249 Email:limited@msu.edu Phone: (517) 355-0306
Opportunities are listed in order by the internal deadline.
