Zhongzhen Nie, Ph.D., branch chief of the Pharmacological and Physiological Sciences Branch in the Division of Pharmacology, Physiology and Biological Chemistry in the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) of the NIH will be our guest presenter.
MIRA, or Maximizing Investigators' Research Award, provides support for the research in an established investigator's laboratory that fall within the mission of NIGMS. The goal of MIRA for Established Investigators (PAR-19-367) is to increase the efficiency of NIGMS funding by providing investigators with greater stability and flexibility, thereby enhancing scientific productivity and the chances for important breakthroughs. In this talk, Dr. Nie will review application requirements, offer guidance to craft strong applications and answer questions about the program.
