Effective on October 27, NSF Research.gov users must complete a one-time multifactor authentication (MFA) enrollment process and use the selected MFA for Research.gov actions.  Principal Investigators (PIs) will need to be prepared to login to Research.gov using MFA to create their proposals.  Once created they may assign their research administrator as an Other Authorized User to help with putting together the proposal, and if preferred, PIs can allow Proposal Submission Access at this time to prevent having to log back in when the proposal is ready to be submitted.

To help with this transition, the following resources are available through the ‘Help’ link in the upper right-hand corner of the Research.gov website.

On October 27, NSF will place additional resources on a new About Signing into Research.gov page on Research.gov Help to assist with the MFA enrollment process and FAQs about the new MFA process.  For other questions about this change, please contact your OSP Proposal Team.
