MSU, through the High Performance Computing Center and Institute for Cyber-Enabled Research, supports the MSU community by providing computational resources and computational support services. The primary aims of the HPCC and ICER are to facilitate research conducted by MSU faculty, staff, and students, and to make MSU researchers more competitive for external research funding and computing time. As such, the HPCC and ICER are resources that should only be used in direct support of MSU goals. While we understand that collaborations exist with researchers outside of MSU, we remind faculty that access to HPCC and ICER resources are only granted when such access directly supports the above goals.
External accounts, which are undergoing renewal at this time, will be scrutinized in light of the above. Furthermore, external users consuming substantial resources (including computing time and disk
space) may receive additional scrutiny. In some cases, further justification from their MSU collaborators, and/or caps on their resource utilization, may be required.
