CIRCLE Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning Workshop

November 15, 2024
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, Main Library, W207 Training 2 Directions to event location

This workshop's goal is for both new and seasoned interdisciplinary educators to move their own practices forward, from classroom strategies to evaluation of interdisciplinary teaching effectiveness. Attendees will be joined by a panel of MSU educators with a variety of experiences designing and teaching interdisciplinary courses for a dialogue about effective interdisciplinary course design, strategies to address potential challenges, and the potential benefits of interdisciplinary courses for instructors and students. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own interdisciplinary teaching philosophies and work on individualized plans for interdisciplinary teaching. Participants will also have access to frameworks, resources, scaffolding, and institutional opportunities for thinking through interdisciplinary course design and collaboration at MSU.

This workshop is suggested for anyone interested in applying for teaching and learning focused Interdisciplinary Seed Grants from CIRCLE.
