CIRCLE Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning Workshop 2

CIRCLE Interdisciplinary Teaching and Learning Workshop 2

February 14, 2025
10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Center for Teaching and Learning Innovation, Main Library, W207 Training 2 Directions to event location

This workshop is focused on collaborative teaching and co-teaching within interdisciplinary courses and other learning experiences. We will provide tools for successful interdisciplinary teaching and practices that contribute to strong co-teaching collaborations. Our goal is for both new and seasoned interdisciplinary educators to move their own practices forward, emphasizing classroom and co-teaching practices. Attendees will be joined by a panel of MSU educators with a variety of experiences in collaborative teaching teams. We will discuss effective interdisciplinary co-teaching, strategies to address potential challenges, and the potential benefits of interdisciplinary courses for instructors and students. Participants will have the opportunity to reflect on their own interdisciplinary teaching philosophies and work on individualized action plans. Participants will also have access to frameworks, resources, scaffolding, and institutional opportunities for thinking through interdisciplinary course design and collaboration at MSU.

This workshop is suggested for anyone interested in applying for teaching and learning focused Interdisciplinary Seed Grants from CIRCLE. Participation in the previous (Fall 2024) Teaching & Learning workshop is not required.
