This presentation provides a practical overview for developing competitive NIH Career Development (K) award applications, including the K08, K23, and K99/R00 mechanisms. Participants will gain an understanding of the purpose and structure of K awards, key differences between K grants and other NIH funding mechanisms, application components, review criteria, and strategies for aligning research, training, and mentorship into a cohesive and compelling proposal. Emphasis will be on developing a strong Career Development Plan, a key component of the NIH K award application.
