Workshop participants explore some of the ways CIRCLE approaches interdisciplinary processes for strong collaborations. Participants gain familiarity with theories and methodologies central to interdisciplinary collaborative processes; practice activities that can support collaborative communication, learning, integration, and problem solving; and reflect on how these practices can inform their own work. Drawing from design research, interdisciplinary studies, theatre and improvisation, and the science of team science, we will explore concepts including boundary work and boundary objects, perspective taking and empathy, reflexivity, and mindfulness. Please come ready to play as we call upon all our faculties – body, brain, and imagination – to interrogate collaborative processes and our roles in them.
While this workshop is Part 2 in CIRCLE’s workshop series, participation in Part 1 is not a prerequisite. This is a standalone event.
This workshop strongly recommended for affiliates interested in applying for a CIRCLE Seed Grant.
