Writing an NIH Specific Aims Page

Writing an NIH Specific Aims Page

October 17, 2024
12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Virtual via Zoom

The Specific Aims page is arguably the most important section of an NIH grant application. Almost all reviewers will carefully read this page, which provides a roadmap for the rest of your proposal. To be successful, reviewers must come away from reading your aims page with a clear understanding of what you plan to do, why it is important, and how you plan to accomplish the work. This webinar will provide helpful information, advice, and resources for writing a compelling Specific Aims page. Following the webinar, interested faculty are invited to send a draft of their Specific Aims page to ORI.editors@msu.edu to receive feedback that will help them improve their Specific Aims page.

Research development webinar

This webinar will be presented by Lauren Aerni-Flessner, Ph.D. and Sara Steenrod, Ph.D., Research Development Specialists in MSU’s Office of Research & Innovation. They provide a variety of services, including individual and small group consultations, grant writing webinars, writing groups, and grant editing to help faculty develop competitive grant proposals for federal funding agencies. Please visit the Research Development and Proposal Services webpage for more information about how they can help you with your next grant proposal.
