The Jenison Fund delivers vital bridge funding to help researchers sustain progress amid changing federal priorities. The second round of funding for this three-year initiative has recently been awarded to more than 25 projects, supporting work in five broad research areas: Life and Health Sciences; Physical and Environmental Sciences; Engineering, Computing, and Data Sciences; Communication and Cultural Engagement; and Human Development. Together, these areas of research excellence highlight the breadth of projects supported in this round across MSU’s research landscape.
The Jenison Fund offers several mechanisms that provide strategic, time-limited assistance to help the MSU research community navigate funding disruptions. These include support for graduate students, retooling assistance for pre-tenure faculty adjusting to changes in federal funding priorities, funding to help faculty complete or pause disrupted projects, and bridge funding for established research programs experiencing temporary agency review delays.
Through these targeted mechanisms, the Jenison Fund helps researchers sustain momentum amid changes in federal funding, continue or complete ongoing work, or pivot their projects as needed. The next round of funding applications is due on April 26. To learn more about funding categories and how to apply, visit the Jenison Fund Career and Research Continuity Support webpage.
