Please be advised that the Research and Innovation will observe modified operating hours during the Winter Break.
Human Research Protection Program and Institutional Review Board Hours
MSU will be closed Thursday, December 25, 2025 through Friday, January 2, 2026 for the holidays and winter break.
Because the university will be closed, the MSU Human Research Protection Program, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Compliance offices will also be closed December 25, 2025 through January 2, 2026. Offices will reopen at the start of business on Monday, January 5, 2026. During this time, the IRB main voicemail will be monitored for any urgent human research protection issues that indicate a potential for an unanticipated or increased risk to participants.
Researchers are encouraged to please keep this in mind when planning IRB submissions. If you plan to submit an application to the IRB office in December, please submit it as soon as you are able to. Please let the IRB coordinator know if there are any urgent deadlines or constraints. If you have any questions, please contact irb@msu.edu.
ICER High Performance Computing Center
There will be limited coverage for ICER HPCC support tickets during MSU's winter break, from December 24, 2025, through January 5, 2026. The system will continue to run jobs and be monitored for emergency issues. Tickets will be sorted by priority on January 5 once the ICER HPCC resumes regular business hours.
Check the HPCC Service Status page for the updates on modified winter break hours.
