Sponsored Program Administration, Office of Sponsored Programs, and Contract and Grant Administration Hours

Sponsored Program Administration (SPA), the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and Contract and Grant Administration (CGA) will be observing MSU’s 2024 winter break starting December 24, 2024, through January 1, 2025.

What does this mean for proposal deadlines?

OSP encourages campus to follow the Proposal Submission Deadline Policy and have all proposals with deadlines from Tuesday, December 24, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025 to OSP by Thursday, December 19.  However, proposals must be submitted to OSP by 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 23 to be submitted for any deadlines that fall between December 24 and January 1.  

What does this mean for award or reporting deadlines?

Award or reporting deadlines during this timeframe that require SPA/OSP/CGA involvement will need to be submitted to SPA/OSP/CGA by noon on Friday, December 20, 2024.  Please communicate known deadlines to the appropriate group within SPA/OSP/CGA as soon as possible or at least by December 16th.

Human Research Protection Program and Institutional Review Board Hours

MSU will be closed Tuesday, December 24, 2024 through Wednesday, January 1, 2025 for the holidays and winter break.

Because the university will be closed, the MSU Human Research Protection Program, including the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and Compliance offices will also be closed December 24, 2024 through January 1, 2025. Offices will reopen at the start of business on Thursday, January 2, 2025.

Researchers are encouraged to please keep this in mind when planning IRB submissions. If you plan to submit an application to the IRB office in December, please submit it as soon as you are able to. Please let the IRB coordinator know if there are any urgent deadlines or constraints. If you have any questions, please contact irb@msu.edu.
