
Teresa K. Woodruff, Ph.D., has been awarded the 2025 Carl G. Hartman Award, the highest honor from the Society for the Study of Reproduction (SSR), recognizing a lifetime of scholarly achievement in reproductive biology.
A renowned expert in ovarian biology and the founder of the field of oncofertility, to describe the merging of two fields: oncology and fertility. Dr. Woodruff has advanced reproductive science and championed sex equity in biomedical research. Her career includes leadership roles as MSU’s Interim President, Provost, and former Dean at Northwestern University.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Woodruff has been nationally recognized, receiving the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mentoring in 2011 and the National Medal of Science, reflecting her impact on science and health care.
Dr. Woodruff is the MSU Research Foundation Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Biology and Biomedical Engineering.
