The Office of Research and Innovation is proud to support MSU scholars through seed funding and other programs that lead to successful funding awards with federal agencies and foundations.
The Discretionary Funding Initiative (DFI), funded by the Michigan State University Foundation, provides bridge funds for tenure stream faculty for additional studies needed for resubmission of an unsuccessful, but nearly fundable, grant application to the same program within a funding agency. Round II awards include eight recipients whose research spans across multiple scientific fields and focuses.
Investigators will receive a total of $50,000 in funding with half coming from their home college and the reminder via the DFI program.
