The Journals program at Michigan State University Press has expanded its STEM offerings and digital reach to scholars. MSU Press recently acquired Aquatic Ecosystem Health & Management (AEHM), a journal featuring extensive research on aquatic ecosystems in the Great Lakes region and around the globe. AEHM is the official journal of the Aquatic Ecosystem Health and Management Society (AEHMS), published quarterly since 1998. AEHM will be the second science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) journal on the MSU Press roster after the mathematics journal Real Analysis Exchange.
The launch plan for this journal includes providing access through a cutting-edge journal distribution program in partnership with Duke University Press. As part of this program Duke is offering journal services, including subscription management, fulfillment, hosting, and institutional marketing and sales in a collaboration called the Scholarly Publishing Collective (SPC). For 2021, AEHM will be hosted at https://read.dukeupress.edu/aehm and will transition to the SPC platform when it launches in 2022. AEHM articles will be freely available for 3 months so readers can familiarize themselves with the journal and the platform.
