MSU researchers have access to several subscription databases for finding funding opportunities to support their research and creative pursuits. These databases have multiple functionalities that are a great starting point for identifying funders, funding opportunities, and potential collaborators.
For additional guidance, please contact the Research Development and Proposal Services team.
Faculty Insight
MSU researchers have access to a comprehensive funding search tool that also has the ability to provide alerts on new funding opportunities. Researchers should log in to the Faculty Insight Discovery section of MSU Scholars using an MSU NetID to get started. Be sure to enter research interests and key words for best matching. Faculty Insight is also an excellent way to find other researchers at MSU and nationally for collaborative projects. View this short video for a demonstration of the program.
Foundation Directory Online Professional
MSU researchers have access to an extensive database of foundation funders. The Foundation Directory Online Professional provides detailed profiles on over 228,000 private and corporate foundations, corporate giving programs, grantmaking public charities, and federal agency funders. Access is available to anyone with a current MSU NetID and password.
Grants.gov
Grants.gov is a centralized location for grant seekers to find and apply for federal grants. You may also sign up for automated notices to be sent to you via email.
SAM.gov
SAM.gov is the U.S. government website for federal assistance listings, including grants, cooperative agreements, and other financial support programs.
MI Funding Hub
The MI Funding Hub can help you identify State of Michigan and federal funding opportunities to support your research and creative pursuits.
