The Undergraduate Research Office invites you to attend the 12th Annual Mid-Michigan Symposium for Undergraduate Research Experiences (Mid-SURE) on Wednesday, July 27th. Nearly 400 MSU and visiting students will share their research with the MSU community.
This in-person, 90-minute workshop will introduce graduate students and post-doctoral scholars to 5 core competencies for research team success. Through a mini-lecture and interactive exercises, we will learn from the emerging literature on research teams and from each other. Participants will leave with a mental framework for thinking about their teamwork, elementary skills in each of the 5 competency areas, a personal action plan for learning more, and new relationships with colleagues from across campus.
From June to September, MSU AgBioResearch and MSU Extension researchers and outreach specialists will be presenting at field days across the state, covering topics from hops and wheat to dairy and regenerative agriculture.
In celebration of the anticipated opening of the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) in May as a U.S. Department of Energy Office of Science user facility, the public is invited to get behind the scenes at a special “FRIB Countdown” event on Saturday, 23 April.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the last tours starting at 4 p.m. It is free and open to all ages, and no appointment is necessary to participate.
This event features MSU’s researchers who reported an invention, licensed a technology or were awarded patents during the academic year. The presentation featuring this year’s awardees will be held at 5 PM with exhibits from 13 faculty researchers and 7 student innovation exhibits.
