Facility for Rare Isotope Beams

The Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB; pronounced ef-rib) will be a new national user facility for nuclear science, funded by the Department of Energy Office of Science (DOE-SC) Office of Nuclear Physics and operated by Michigan State University (MSU). FRIB will provide intense beams of rare isotopes (that is, short-lived nuclei not normally found on Earth). FRIB will enable scientists to make discoveries about the properties of these rare isotopes in order to better understand the physics of nuclei, nuclear astrophysics, fundamental interactions, and applications for society.

Center for Ethics and Humanities in the Life Science

We hope the information you find here communicates the richness of that tradition, as well as the diversity of our current projects.

Center for Gender in Global Context

The Center for Gender in Global Context (GenCen), in International Studies and Programs (ISP), draws together the strengths of the program in Women, Gender, and Social Justice (WGSJ) in the College of Arts and Letters (CAL) and the College of Social Science (SSC) and the Gender, Development and Globalization Program (GDG) in ISP. These programs have historically looked at gender in the US and in international contexts, respectively. The new center emphasizes women and gender in a global context, with distinctive new programs promoting teaching, research, and outreach relevant to 21st century concerns.

Confidential Disclosure Agreement

Confidential Disclosure Agreement (CDA) (sometimes referred to as a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)) is a legal contract that governs the exchange of proprietary or confidential information. The agreement is used when there is a need to share proprietary information with an external party for a limited purpose while protecting it from being disclosed to others or the public. A CDA is also used when there is a need to avoid forfeiture of patent rights due to premature public disclosure.

English Language Center

Established in 1961 as a unit of the Department of English and the College of Arts and Letters at Michigan State University, the English Language Center (ELC) provides instruction to international students who need to improve their English language skills before beginning academic course work. The ELC serves the international community by providing English language instruction against a backdrop of American life and academia.

It also serves individuals who are not seeking a degree at MSU but who want to improve their English skills. Such students can apply directly to the English Language Center or may enroll through the Eurocentres program.
