The Center for Advanced Microscopy is the central microscopy laboratory for the Michigan State University Campus. We provide MSU researchers with formal graduate level instruction and 24/7 access to scanning electron microscopes, transmission electron microscopes, and confocal laser scanning microscopes. We support all research disciplines including nanotechnology.

Communications and Brand Strategy (CABS) is the central communications office for Michigan State University. They produce university-level, brand-aligned marketing communications, assist MSU units in developing strategies to align their communications with the university brand, and write and distribute news releases. As of early 2019, they are now called University Communications.

The Biomedical Research Informatics Core (BRIC) was established at Michigan State University (MSU) in 2001. With the creation of the MSU Clinical and Translational Science Institute (MSU-CTSI) in August, 2008, the governance of BRIC was placed within the MSU-CTSI as part of its cross-cutting key research core. BRIC’s mission is to provide high-level informatics and information technology support to clinical and translational researchers. Having a mature foundation and solid reputation for performance makes implementation of planned new initiatives straight forward and orderly.  Dr. Philip L. Reed, PhD, is the full-time BRIC director.

The American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) is a membership association of professionals employed around the world in academia, government, and private industry who are dedicated to the humane care and treatment of laboratory animals, as well as the quality research that leads to scientific gains that benefit people and animals. AALAS provides educational materials to laboratory animal care professionals and researchers, administers certification programs for laboratory animal technicians and managers, publishes scholarly journals, supports laboratory animal science research, and serves as the premier forum for the exchange of information and expertise in the care and use of laboratory animals. The Discretionary Funding Initiative (DFI), funded by the Michigan State Foundation, provides bridge funds for tenure stream faculty for additional studies needed for resubmission of an unsuccessful, but nearly fundable, grant application to the same funding agency.
