Multiple Postings for Assistant/Associate/Full Professors

The Plant Resilience Institute of Michigan State University invites applications for multiple faculty positions at a tenure-track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level from individuals using innovative laboratory, computational, or field experimental approaches to study plant responses to the environment. Candidates for the Assistant Professor positions will be evaluated separately from those for the Associate/Full Professor positions. The successful applicants can work across any scales or systems within the plant sciences, with a research focus on abiotic and biotic constraints relevant to plant resilience against the changing climate. Responsibilities also include undergraduate and/or graduate teaching (to be determined based on departmental need and candidate strengths) and participation in both undergraduate and graduate training. MacFarlane Called Upon for Deforestation Expertise
David MacFarlane of the MSU Department of Forestry was invited with a group of entomologists in February 2020 to visit the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico to help examine declining bee populations in a changing forest landscape.

MSU Researchers Connect Over Coral
Robert Quinn and Christoph Benning from the College of Natural Science collaborate on coral bleaching, a heat-induced response to stress where the coral ejects the algae in its tissues causing it to turn white.

MSU-DOE Plant Research Lab Awarded $12M Grant Renewal
The U.S. Department of Energy has awarded the MSU-DOE Plant Research Laboratory a $12M competitive renewal grant to continue research in photosynthetic energy capture, conversion and storage.
